Collie

Stanley

Introducing the very handsome boy that is Stanley. He is a Collie x approximately 1.5 yrs old. Vaccinated, Microchipped and neutered.
Stanley first came into the care of Cara a few months ago after he was found straying and ended up in the pound. It was clear that Stanley had problems with his eyesight and once he was settled into foster and given time to adjust to living in a home environment he was then seen by an eye specialist who confirmed that Stanley was indeed blind and sadly there is nothing can be done to help save or reverse his blindness. He also has cataracts but as this is secondary and not the cause of his blindness it would not be of any benefit to Stanley to have them removed.
He does need regular eye drops to keep them from getting dry or sore.
As for Stanley himself...well only that I have told you, you would never believe he is blind! He has grown in confidence since being in foster care and adapts to different places and situations although can still be nervous but with patience and reassurance he is open to exploring. Stanley just loves and adores everybody (he can get very over excited at first when meeting people and would jump up on you) but training in this area is ongoing. For this reason we would prefer older kids only (if any).
Stanley would be looking for an active home with another gentle dog as his foster mammy feels that it may benefit Stanley to have a buddy. He would not be suitable around cats . His ideal home would be with a secure enclosed space for him to explore. He enjoys going for walks. Stanley is very clean in the house and is house trained. He has come on so well and with the right person he will continue to.
Stanley is a stunning boy and everybody he meets adores him as much as he adores them

Lurcher

Abby

We want you to meet the incredible Abby, a 9-year-old female lurcher with a heart (and personality!) far bigger than she is.
Abbey first came into our care back in 2018, when she was just around a year old. She’d suffered a severely broken leg that sadly had to be amputated but honestly, it never bothered her one bit. Abby bounced back like a champ and went on to be adopted by a lovely lady, Marlene.
For eight years, Abby lived a happy, amazing love-filled life. Sadly, her owner Marlene passed away suddenly last November, As per Marlene's wishes, we took Abby back into our care.
So here we are, looking for a final forever home for this absolute sweetheart.
Yes — she’s 9
Yes — she has three legs
But this girl is unstoppable. She is has the energy of a puppy.
She is...
> Incredibly friendly,
>Great with children,
> Loves other dogs,
> Adores cuddles with her humans
You genuinely would not believe her age. Abby's happy personality is infectious.
Abby prefers the opportunity to run/ snoop or just stroll around the garden Or a safe enclosed area over a lead walk. But happy to go on lead when needed.
She’s happiest when she has a decent-sized garden to zoom around in and other dogs to play with — she definitely needs canine company in her new home, as she thrives on it.
Ideally a relatively active home where she will get both physical & mental stimulation .
After a busy day, she’s more than happy to curl up and snuggle close to any available humans!
Sighthounds love to play But they their main objective in life is to nap in the most ridiculous positions
If you think you could be the next chapter in Abby’s story and offer her the loving home she so deserves, we'd love to hear from you. Contact adoptions@cararescuedogs.ie or below is our adoption application

Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Rosie

Our beautiful 2-year-old Rosie is hoping to find her forever home
This brave little lady has been through so much. After living rough for months, she was sadly involved in a road accident — but thanks to lots of love and care, she’s now fully recovered. Her cherry eye has been repaired, and she’s now neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and housetrained.
Rosie is a shy girl who loves to quietly follow her foster mammy around she can be very shy around strangers but gets on well with her doggie friends and finds comfort in their company. Rosie is doing well with lead training — but will need someone with time and patience as walking in new areas can sometimes be daunting
Because Rosie is a Staffie and based in Southern Ireland, she does need to wear a muzzle when out in public places which is is a shame as she’s the gentlest little lady you could ever meet. She can't be rehomed to rentals, council or social housing due to restrictions
If you think you can offer Rosie the love and security she deserves, please email adoptions@cararescuedogs.ie for an application form or click the link below, as with all our dogs a secure garden is required.
