Collie
Stanley
Introducing the very handsome boy that is Stanley. He is a Collie x approximately 1.5 yrs old. Vaccinated, Microchipped and neutered.
Stanley first came into the care of Cara a few months ago after he was found straying and ended up in the pound. It was clear that Stanley had problems with his eyesight and once he was settled into foster and given time to adjust to living in a home environment he was then seen by an eye specialist who confirmed that Stanley was indeed blind and sadly there is nothing can be done to help save or reverse his blindness. He also has cataracts but as this is secondary and not the cause of his blindness it would not be of any benefit to Stanley to have them removed.
He does need regular eye drops to keep them from getting dry or sore.
As for Stanley himself...well only that I have told you..well you would never believe he is blind! He has grown in confidence since being in foster care and adapts to different places and situations although can still be nervous but with patience and reassurance he is open to exploring. Stanley just loves and adores everybody (he can get very over excited at first when meeting people and would jump up on you) but training in this area is ongoing. For this reason we would prefer older kids only (if any).
Stanley would be looking for an active home with another gentle dog as his foster mammy feels that it may benefit Stanley to have a buddy. He would not be suitable around cats . His ideal home would be with a secure enclosed space for him to explore. He enjoys going for walks. Stanley is very clean in the house and is house trained. He has come on so well and with the right person he will continue to.
Stanley is a stunning boy and everybody he meets adores him as much as he adores them
